Here are a few more images from the trip. Seeing these places only makes me want to hop on a warm chocolate chip "cookied" jet and go back!

Washington Remembered

My feet no longer ache. I am well rested. And my family is no longer pouring extra attention on me, so I guess all is back to normal. But I remain changed. The experiences, sights and sounds, tastes and touches have collectively left an imprint that will effect all future references to government, DC, Virginia, etc. For that I am grateful. Although losing my favorite photos was a blow...I am learning to make lemonade out of my lesser lemon photos. Here is the capitol as an example. Given time, more will be added. Raise a glass...here's to great memories!

Back from DC

Find some of Dave's pictures from Washington DC here. We had a great time, learned a massive amount of information, and walked...and walked...and walked. It was an incredible experience for all!

Teresa's Pictures Can Be Found Here

Click HERE to see the pictures I took of our trip to Williamsburg and D.C. I also have these photos on a CD if it would be easier for you to download that way.

My thanks to you all for a wonderful trip! I learned a great deal on this trip, not the least of which is that LPS is fortunate to have such fabulous teachers as you all.

My best to you and I hope to see you again soon!!

The U.S. Capitol Building

This is a picture of the main rotunda of the United States Capitol. The Senate chambers and the House chambers branch off each side. What do you notice at the top of the Capitol?

The Nation's Capitol

Today we visited the United States Capitol building. Each state is allowed to send two statues of historical figures to the Capitol for display. The statues have to be of people who are no longer living, must be full body statues, and can only be made of bronze or marble. Do you know who this historical figure is? Do you know his contribution to the State of Nebraska?

Do you know what memorial this is?

The people viewing the memorial are in the left side of the picture. The memorial, which reflects the images, is on the right. What is the name of this memorial?

It's Day 4!

Here we are at the National Museum of American History! We saw everything from Dorothy's ruby slippers (Do you remember what movie those are from?) to Abraham Lincoln's watch (Do you know what the recent surprise is that was found in the watch?). The Star Spangled Banner was incredible (Not the song, what is it??). What an amazing museum!!

Mt. Vernon

This is the home of George Washington. We toured his home and walked the grounds of his plantation.

USA Today from April 2

On the on-line edition of the USA Today for April 2, there was an article about the Cherry Blossom Festival. Within the article was a list of interesting interactive maps and links which were super fun to peruse through. If you can find that article, you too can have fun and get even more excited. The site has an area that you can click on for more information on certain buildings, museums, etc.
