Many of the 3rd grade teachers are working on how the national government works, breaking lessons into the three branches of govt. We are also going to make a Lincoln/Ne connection as we model our lessons in a "walking tour" format as we do the Lincoln walking tour. We are very excited to pull resources from our new soc. st. curriculum that rocks! We absolutely love the it, and the kids do even more. Teaching soc. st. is so much fun now---especially since we have a year free from CRT's!
