Seems like a long time ago! But the memories of the seafood fricassee will last forever!
This graduate course encourages and supports K-5 teachers as they use Teaching with Place to bring historic places alive for their students. Teachers cannot always take their students to a place. Bringing the place to students through first hand knowledge, experience, artifacts, and photographs can make history more concrete for students, allow them to think critically about issues of interpretation, and develop historical understanding.
My feet no longer ache. I am well rested. And my family is no longer pouring extra attention on me, so I guess all is back to normal. But I remain changed. The experiences, sights and sounds, tastes and touches have collectively left an imprint that will effect all future references to government, DC, Virginia, etc. For that I am grateful. Although losing my favorite photos was a blow...I am learning to make lemonade out of my lesser lemon photos. Here is the capitol as an example. Given time, more will be added. Raise a glass...here's to great memories!
